This central Newfoundland town wants to become cruise ship hub

A town in central Newfoundland hasn’t seen a cruise ship sail into its port in years but one association wants to change course.

Botwood has a deep water port but it has only ever seen one cruise ship, and that was 16 years ago.

“Collectively, we can make this happen. And not just for one ship, for several ships for several years and make this, you know, something that everybody can be proud of,” said Exploits Valley Port Corporation chairperson Scott Sceviour.
