From New Year’s Eve in Los Angeles to the star-filled nights of the Southern Hemisphere, an extraordinary 139-day journey across five continents, unfolding through great world capitals, dreamlike islands and landscapes of raw natural beauty.
Costa Cruises unveils the new World Cruise 2028, an epic 139-day journey across five continents and three oceans, with extended stays in the world’s most iconic cities, designed for those who want to explore the planet at a slower pace and in a more authentic way.
An experience of continuous wonder, where each stop reveals a new perspective and each day becomes part of an ever-evolving story.
Departing from Savona on 25 November 2027, Costa Deliziosa will take guests on an extraordinary itinerary calling at 51 destinations in 29 countries, including 21 islands. Created to inspire modern-day explorers, the journey offers a complete experience that blends major global cities, unspoiled nature, ancient cultures and some of the most fascinating remote ports on Earth.
In addition to the full 139-day itinerary from Savona, guests can also take advantage of an additional booking option: a 100-Day cruise departing from San Francisco, easily accessible via flights from major international airports. This option includes destinations in Oceania, Asia and Africa, and concludes with the end of the cruise in Savona on 11 April 2028.
“With the 2028 World Cruise, Costa Cruises offers a truly extraordinary travel experience, designed for those who want to explore the world without haste. 139-day itinerary crossing five continents and three oceans, featuring extended stays, exclusive overland programs and iconic moments such as New Year’s Eve in Los Angeles and access to Celebration Key, the private island in the Bahamas opening for the first time to Costa guests. It is a proposal that brings together emotion, depth and quality, and reflects our ability to create distinctive, high-value journeys dedicated to world explorers and travelers who want to savor every destination in an authentic way,” said Luigi Stefanelli, Vice President Worldwide Sales of Costa Cruises.
After leaving the Mediterranean, the journey takes shape in North America among the icons of the East and West Coasts, with extended stays in New York and Los Angeles, culminating in a spectacular New Year’s Eve on the Californian coast. The itinerary can be further enhanced with exclusive experiences such as a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon.
Among the major highlights of the 2028 edition is a total escape at Celebration Key, the new private island in the Bahamas opening for the first time to Costa guests: a tropical gem where powder-white sand meets a sea that fades into infinite shades of turquoise, framed by exclusive beach clubs, crystal-clear waters and corners of unspoiled nature.
From the Caribbean sun, the route opens toward the vastness of the Pacific Ocean, where the journey delivers some of its most unforgettable experiences. Hawaii welcomes guests with landscapes forged by fire: in Hilo, nature reigns supreme with craters, lava tubes and waterfalls breaking through the jungle; in Honolulu, the energy of Waikiki and Polynesian culture merge into a magnetic atmosphere that captivates at first sight.
The itinerary continues into the most authentic Oceania, with the exotic atmospheres of Fiji, where Suva tells stories of ancestral traditions and lush landscapes, and Samoa, with Apia, featuring natural pools carved into volcanic rock, golden beaches and the purest essence of Polynesian culture. The journey then moves on to New Zealand, which reveals itself as a vast natural film set of fjords, rugged coastlines and rolling hills, offering some of the most spectacular stops of the entire voyage: from Tauranga to Auckland, all the way to the evocative Bay of Islands, where more than one hundred emerald-green islets dot the sea, creating a setting of rare beauty.
The journey then reaches Australia, with Melbourne, a creative and multicultural capital, and Sydney, where a two-day stay allows guests to fully experience the city and wake up facing the iconic skyline of the Opera House.
Asia marks a clear shift in atmosphere. Japan takes center stage with Tokyo, where the ship remains for two days, and impresses with its perfect balance between avant-garde and tradition: silent temples, futuristic districts and hidden gardens coexist in perfect harmony. After further Japanese ports of call and a stop in South Korea, the journey reaches Hong Kong, a key gateway before continuing through Southeast Asia, with destinations such as Langkawi in Malaysia, a lush archipelago of rainforests, mangroves and landscapes suspended between sea and mountains, and the radiant beaches of Phuket in Thailand, framed by sculpted cliffs and crystal-clear waters.
The voyage continues through the deep blue of the Indian Ocean, reaching Sri Lanka, with its ancient temples, tea plantations and millennia-old culture; the Maldives, with waters of extraordinary transparency; and Mauritius, with emerald mountains and Creole culture.
The ship then sails along southern Africa, encountering the vibrant spirit of Durban, the boundless nature of Port Elizabeth and the majesty of Cape Town, dominated by Table Mountain.
After Namibia, with the spectacular Walvis Bay lagoon and its pink flamingos—one of the world’s most astonishing meeting points between land and sea—and Cape Verde, the ship returns to Europe via the Canary Islands, Barcelona and Marseille, before arriving back in Savona, where it all began.
Making the 2028 World Cruise even more distinctive is a curated selection of multi-day overland, designed to truly immerse guests in the heart of each destination: from New Year’s Eve in Los Angeles with a flight over the Grand Canyon, to the cinematic landscapes of New Zealand experienced through Māori culture and primordial nature; from the temples of Kyoto and traditional Japanese rituals, to a deep immersion in Southern Africa, explored in a five-day journey through history, nature and vast horizons.
Costa Deliziosa welcomes guests into an atmosphere of elegance and comfort, featuring refined Murano glass furnishings, open decks named after flowers, and bright cabins with meticulous attention to detail. The romantic Sunset Bar overlooking the sea becomes the ideal spot for a sunset aperitif, while every space on board is designed to transform time at sea into a genuine pleasure.
The experience is enhanced by engaging entertainment, including shows, live music and ever-changing themed evenings. The rich and varied gastronomic offer ranges from themed restaurants to gourmet proposals and bars dedicated to relaxation, inviting guests each day to discover new flavors and enjoy a culinary journey that complements the voyage around the world.
