P.E.I. welcomes first cruise ship of season, with more boats expected than last year

Port Charlottetown, marine gateway to Prince Edward IslandThis year’s cruise ship season has kicked off in Prince Edward Island, with the first vessel of the season sailing into Charlottetown Harbour on Monday morning.

Mike Cochrane, CEO of Port Charlottetown, called the arrival of Victory I the unofficial “kickoff of the cruise season,” noting it also coincides with National Tourism Week.

Cochrane said there will be 79 ship calls this season, including about six inaugural visits.
