Port of Galveston Approves Master Plan to Expand Cruise Capacity

Galveston Wharves (Logo)The Port of Galveston is set for a major transformation following approval of a $2.4 billion, 20-year strategic master plan designed to expand cruise capacity, enhance infrastructure and support long-term growth.

Already ranked as the fourth busiest cruise homeport in the U.S., the Texas port is positioning itself to accommodate rising demand with plans to build up to three new cruise terminals, additional parking garages and expanded cargo operations.
Cruise Passenger Growth Expected

The expansion comes as cruise traffic continues to surge, with the port handling nearly 3.6 million passengers annually in recent years.
