Cruise ship makes maiden voyage to Penghu

Phoenix Reisen (Logo)The Panamanian-flagged cruise ship Amadea docked at Magong Port on Tuesday, completing its maiden voyage to Penghu and bringing more than 500 tourists from Europe and the US.

The 29,000-tonne vessel’s arrival marks a milestone for Penghu’s tourism sector as local authorities seek to expand international cruise traffic. Officials said five cruise ships, making seven voyages in total, are expected to visit the port this year, per CNA.

Amadea departed from Keelung Port and arrived at Magong Port at 11 a.m., where it was welcomed by tugboats spraying water cannons before berthing at Pier 1.
