Ambassador Cruise Line shares further details of all-new 2028/29 season
Ambassador Cruise Line launched its 2028/29 season on Thursday 12 March 2026, marking the earliest season launch since Ambience’s inaugural sailing in 2022.
Offering guests the convenience of embarking on their next adventure from a port that’s close to home from 23 April 2028 through to 29 March 2029, the geographical spread of Ambassador’s six departure gateways has been chosen to make sailings even more accessible to a broad section of the population (London Cruise Terminal in Tilbury, Newcastle’s port of Tyne, Dundee, Liverpool, Belfast and Portsmouth).
With more ex-UK departures than any other cruise line, Ambassador’s adult-only no-fly sailings for the 2028/29 season include a wide choice of authentic itineraries designed for the over-50s market. With 35 sailings plus four Christmas Party dates on Ambience’s sixth season at sea and 39 itineraries aboard Ambition, sailing primarily from the regions for a fifth year itineraries range from the British Isles to the Mediterranean, Iberia and Scandinavia, alongside winter sun escapes and festive sailings, with the opportunity to explore breathtaking Norwegian World Heritage fjords courtesy of Ambassador’s small-to-mid-size fleet, which sit within the top 15% of sustainable ships worldwide.
The new season will also introduce a number of new ports of call. These include Akrafjorden in Norway, offering guests the opportunity for scenic cruising through dramatic fjord landscapes; Motril on Spain’s southern coast, providing access to Granada and Andalusia; and Marseille, the cultural gateway to southern France.
Christmas, New Year and Shorter Sailings
Two Christmas and New Year itineraries offer guests a festive escape to warmer climates, travelling south to combine festive celebrations at sea with calls to Mediterranean and Iberian destinations: the 15-night Christmas Sun Escape to Spain & Portugal aboard Ambition departing London Tilbury on 21 December 2028 and calling at Vigo for Santiago de Compostela, Leixoes for Porto, Alicante and Almeria with Christmas Day at sea and New Year’s Eve in Gibraltar; and the Christmas Sunshine in Spain, Portugal and the Canaries aboard Ambience, which sets sail on 22 December 2028 for 15 nights and takes in Tenerife, Lanzarote and Gran Canaria, with Christmas Day in Vigo and a viewing of the famous Funchal fireworks at midnight on New Year’s Eve.
The season will also feature a range of shorter sailings lasting from 1 to 4 nights, taking in the British Isles and Northern Europe, alongside a selection of themed getaways. Christmas Market cruises and Taster sailings.
In addition, Ambience will host Christmas Party events across four days in 2028 at Ambassador’s home port of London Cruise Terminal in Tilbury. Ideal for friends, family, work colleagues or simply curious prospective guests looking to get a taste of Ambassador before booking, these events on 2, 8, 9, and 16 December 2028 offer guests the chance to celebrate the festive season over a five-course lunch or dinner, a spectacular onboard show and, for dinner guests, an overnight stay with breakfast served the following morning.
Destination Experiences
Itineraries across the 2028/29 season have been curated to ensure Ambassador continues to provide Destination Experiences that allow guests to fully discover the culture, history and natural beauty of the places they visit. Designed to appeal to a wide range of interests and budgets, these experiences include scenic rail journeys, immersive cultural excursions and iconic landmarks, all supported by Ambassador’s Destination Management team to ensure smooth operation and peace of mind ashore.
Available to pre-register online on the Ambassador App and book at sea with the onboard team, highlights include ports of call to Reykjavik in Iceland, where guests can explore the iconic Golden Circle, taking in Þingvellir National Park, the powerful Gullfoss waterfall and the Strokkur geyser; Naples, offering guests the opportunity to visit Herculaneum, one of the best-preserved Roman sites in the world buried beneath volcanic ash during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius; and Cadiz, where travellers can experience an authentic flamenco performance that showcases the passion, music and dance of southern Spain.
Fares
Fares include more than just cabin accommodation. The Saver Fare offers full board outstanding cuisine, including breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, as well as the opportunity to enjoy a Captain’s Cocktail Party and Gala Dinner, complete with the famous Baked Alaska Parade. Porterage of luggage between the port and cabin is provided, and all port taxes, fees and charges are covered. Flexible cancellation policies are also included.
For those looking to enhance the experience, the Ambassador Fare offers all the benefits of the standard fare, plus additional features. These include the Expedition Drinks Package – which is available at a 15% discount courtesy of the ‘Marveless’ season launch offer – featuring a wide selection of premium and house brand spirits and wines, premium teas and coffees and unlimited soft drinks. All gratuities and service charges are included, and a guaranteed dinner sitting (excluding table size) ensures dining preferences are met.

Ambassador is offering Buy One, Get One Half Price on all sailings in the 2028/29 season, subject to availability. The offer will be shown upon booking, with the first guest at full price and second guest travelling for half that amount.
15% off Premium Drinks Packages on Ambassador Fares
As well as the Buy One, Get One Half Price offer, guests looking to enjoy Ambassador’s Premium Drinks Package – the Expedition Package – will receive 15% off the per day price, valid on selected sailings. This will see the price reduced from £49.95 per person per day to £42.46 per person per day when booking an Ambassador Fare. The drinks package includes premium wines, premium spirits and cocktails, as well as speciality tea and coffee, non-alcoholic drinks, service charges and gratuities.
25% off Single Fares for Solo Travellers
Solo travellers can take advantage of up to 25% off full single fares on all sailings in the 2027/28 season, subject to availability.
Great deals on Group bookings of 15 guests or more
Groups of 15 guests or more can enjoy additional benefits when booking a cruise with Ambassador, including a 5% discount on selected sailings. For groups of 25 adult guests, Ambassador will offer one additional free place (26th place), and two free places for groups of 50 adult guests (51st and 52nd places).
