Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings CEO Harry Sommer Departs; Former Subway CEO John Chidsey Takes Charge
Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. announced a major leadership shakeup Thursday afternoon by appointing board member and veteran corporate executive John W. Chidsey as its new president and CEO, effective immediately.
Chidsey succeeds Harry Sommer, who is stepping down from the role and the company’s Board of Directors.
The appointment marks a significant shift for the parent company of Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises, bringing in an executive best known for his turnaround work outside the cruise sector.
