Holland America Line Sees Dramatic Rise in Europe Bookings for 2026

Holland America Line's Rotterdam VII departed the city of Rotterdam, the Netherlands, today  - Oct. 15, 2022 - on its historic 150th Anniversary Transatlantic Crossing. The 15-day journey recreates Holland America Line's maiden voyage of Rotterdam I that departed the city 150 years ago today. The crossing follows the path of that first sailing to New York, with calls at Le Havre, France, and Plymouth, England. The brick building with towers in the lower right is the former headquarters for Holland America Line and is now Hotel New York.Holland America Line is experiencing a surge in demand for European cruises, with bookings for its 2026 season up more than a third compared to this time last year.

The rise is especially notable in the cruise line’s Northern Europe voyages, an increase of nearly 50% year over year, as travelers seek out the region’s dramatic natural beauty and easy‑to‑explore cities.
