Port commissioners approve 2026 budget, cruise feasibility study

Port of Bellingham commissioners passed a 2026 budget on Nov. 18 that does not rely on a property tax increase from Whatcom County property owners to fund a portion of it.

While other local governments are tightening budget belts, the port anticipates bringing in $30.4 million in operating revenues and spending $25.7 million, with most expenditures offset by grant funds.

Not included in the 2026 budget is a property tax increase.
