Power Problems Stall Norwegian Star in Hudson River
Cruise passengers expecting a breezy transatlantic trip to Canada and Iceland instead found themselves stuck in the middle of the Hudson River on Saturday — when the Norwegian Star suffered a power failure after departure from the Manhattan Cruise Terminal.
W42ST reader Anne Davis spotted the ship anchored mid-river and shared a photo: “It’s been stuck in the same spot for hours,” she said.
The ship was visibly adrift in the Hudson just off the West Side, caught between the Intrepid Museum and the far shore of New Jersey, as tugboats stood by to assist.
