Costa Cruises, in cooperation with the Airport of Genoa, inaugurates the season of inbound and outbound charter flights dedicated to Dutch and German guests

Costa Cruises (New Logo - October 2021)Thanks to the collaboration with Genoa Airport, Costa inaugurates the season of inbound and outbound charter flights dedicated to Dutch and German customers, organized with the two carriers Corendon and Condor.

These new charter flights will move about 16,500 passengers at the “Cristoforo Colombo”.

On Friday 25 April at 11:35 a.m., the first Corendon flight of the Amsterdam – Genoa connection is expected at the Ligurian airport. This new flight organized by the Dutch tour operator Stip Reizen is dedicated to customers who will embark on Costa Smeralda, the flagship of the Italian company, moored every Friday at the port of Genoa as part of its 7-day itinerary in the Western Mediterranean.

The flight, operated by the airline Corendon, owner of Stip Reizen, will be active every Friday from April 25 to June 27 and from September 5 to October 24. The Corendon flight program for boarding Costa Smeralda arriving and departing at and from Genoa Airport provides for a total of 18 rotations, with an estimated 7,600 passengers handled.

On Sunday 4 May it will be the turn of the first of the new weekly charter flights, operated by Condor, which will connect Düsseldorf with Genoa, allowing German guests to reach Savona via transfer from where they will embark on Costa Toscana for a cruise to discover Italy, France and Spain. The Condor charter flight program to and from Düsseldorf continues until October 19, 2025, with a total of 25 return flights for a total of around 9,000 passengers’ movements. Passengers on the Condor Düsseldorf – Genoa charter flight will be able to take advantage of the “inbound” and “off-airport check-in” services, thanks to which it will be possible, during departure, to deliver their luggage at the embarkation airport to find them directly in the cabin on the ship and, on their return, deliver them on board the ship to collect them at the arrival airport.

“Our goal is to offer our guests the best travel experiences, from any point of view. These charter flights confirm our commitment to making our cruises even more accessible, thanks to comfortable air connections equipped with quality services. Genoa airport is an ideal solution to offer this service thanks to its strategic position with respect to both the ports of Genoa and Savona, two of the main ports of embarkation of our company in the Mediterranean. We are pleased to strengthen our collaboration with Genoa Airport, supporting tourist flows in our region, also thanks to our commercial relationships with international partners such as Stip Reizen,” said Daniel Caprile, Vice President Pricing & Revenue Management, Itinerary & Transportation at Costa Cruises.

“On behalf of the entire Genoa airport, I would like to thank Costa Cruises for this renewed collaboration,” said Enrico Musso, president of Genoa Airport.

“The proximity to the cruise ports of our region – continued Musso – makes our airport the natural point of departure and arrival for this tourist segment so important for our territory. A market that we are confident of being able to serve more and more thanks also to the new best-in-class services that we will be able to offer once the important investments in progress and planned have been completed”.

“We look forward to welcoming the first guests of these new charter flights dedicated to cruise passengers on Friday 25 April,” added Francesco D’Amico – General Manager of Genoa Airport. The imminent departure of connections with Amsterdam and Düsseldorf” – continued D’Amico – “testify to the centrality of Genoa City Airport for tourists wishing to spend a cruise holiday”.
