Wilmington’s history as a destination for cruise ships is lengthy but sporadic
Wilmington is known for lots of things, but “cruise ship destination” probably isn’t one of them. That’s mainly because, for the most part, we’re not.
Currently, the East Coast Inland Passage Cruise from American Cruise Lines, which runs modestly sized cruises for around 100 guests, makes regular stops in Wilmington, but that’s about it for cruises of any size.
Over the decades, cruise ship stops in Wilmington have been sporadic at best, though they’ve drawn fanfare when they have stopped here.
