Cruise Month is back this October – CLIA Australasia
Cruise Month returns to Australia and New Zealand this October, putting cruise holidays in the spotlight ahead of a busy summer season of sailing.
Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) has introduced a fresh look for this year’s program of Cruise Month initiatives, linking the excitement of the cruise experience with the allure of cruise destinations.
“Cruise Month is about celebrating the upcoming cruise season and capitalising on the passion Australians and New Zealanders have for cruising,” said CLIA Managing Director in Australasia Joel Katz. “Our campaigns this year takes a split-screen look, highlighting the enjoyment of cruising alongside the extraordinary destinations we can sail to.”
Under the banner #LoveCruise, Cruise Month will cycle through four weekly themes, covering Ocean Cruising (29 September 29 – 5 October), River Cruising (6-12 October), Expedition Cruising (13-19 October) and Luxury Cruising (20-26 October).
Among activities planned this year is an expanded social media campaign targeting new-to-cruise consumers as well as established cruising fans. Through a rolling program of imagery and videos on Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram, the campaign will direct consumers to CLIA cruise specialist travel agents.
Other activities include digital advertising aligned with the four weekly themes, Cruise Month coverage in major newspapers and specialist publications, Cruise Month promotions by CLIA cruise lines, and a competition in which CLIA travel agents who launch their own Cruise Month events can win a travel package to attend next year’s CLIA Awards gala dinner.
To support members, CLIA has produced a new Cruise Month toolkit that allows travel agents to mount their own Cruise Month initiatives and amplify CLIA’s social media campaign. The toolkit includes Cruise Month logos, social media tiles, imagery, videos, digital banners, a customisable flyer, posters, and more.
Agents will also be able to take part in Cruise Month webinars hosted by CLIA cruise lines, allowing them to expand their product knowledge and take advantage of the latest cruise line initiatives.
To find out more about Cruise Month and learn how to take part, CLIA members can view a video guide providing information and suggestions on how to mount their own Cruise Month campaigns.
The video guide and Cruise Month toolkit are accessible online via the CLIA Members Hub.
