Global Ports Holding Welcomes Timo A. Schön as General Manager of Bremerhaven Cruise Port

The terminal at the Columbus Cruise Center (CCCB) in BremerhavenGlobal Ports Holding Plc (GPH) is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Timo A. Schön as the new General Manager for Bremerhaven Cruise Port, marking GPH’s first port in Germany.

Timo A. Schön brings over two decades of leadership experience in the maritime industry to his new role. Most recently, he served as CEO of Jade-Dienst GmbH in Wilhelmshaven, Germany, since June 2020. During his tenure, Jade-Dienst GmbH expanded its services significantly, adding mooring, port forwarding, vessel supplies, MARPOL I waste disposal, marine engine repairs, maritime steel locksmith services, and terminal operations to its portfolio. Timo also led the spin-off of a marine propulsion division and founded a subsidiary focused on offshore services.

Before his role at Jade-Dienst GmbH, Timo was the Managing Director of Seaports of Niedersachsen GmbH. He has held top management positions in shipbroking and agency services along the European coast, including key roles at Frachtcontor Junge & Co. GmbH and Karl Geuther GmbH & Co KG. His extensive experience also includes being a partner at FCJ Partner Beteiligungsges. mbH & Co.KG and serving on the supervisory board of the Bremerhaven Cruise Terminal.

GPH had signed a 10-year port concession agreement with bremenports GmbH & Co. KG, representing the city of Bremen, for the operations at the Cruise Terminal Columbusbahnhof Bremerhaven back in September 2023. The concession, which includes a potential 5-year extension option, will commence in January 2025. This agreement marks a significant milestone for GPH as it expands its presence in the Northern Europe cruise market.
