Bing Comes On Board The Ships Of Costa Cruises For A Summer Of Family Fun

Costa Cruises (New Logo - October 2021)An unprecedented partnership between Costa Cruises and Acamar Films, the production company of the famous animated series for pre-school children Bing Bunny, has kicked off to bring the most loved character by children all over the world on board the Italian company’s ships.

Thanks also to the agency Maurizio Distefano Licensing that managed the agreement, starting this coming summer on board Costa Toscana and Costa Smeralda, the flagships of the Costa fleet, the young guests on a cruise with their families will meet Bing, the protagonist of the stories of the famous animated series, the most viewed on Rai Play for Italy, but also among the three most downloaded on BBC iPlayer for 10 consecutive years, and available in more than 130 countries worldwide.

Each week on board the two ships there will be events aimed at all families, such as meet & greet with the Bing costume character, during which children will be able to hug their favorite cartoon character, theme parades and parties, which will help stimulate interactions between children on board, and many other fun and musical activities that will cheer the holidays of the youngest children and their families.

‘Costa Cruises is an expert in offering high quality entertainment to the families onboard its ships, especially thanks to the dedicated children’s clubs with reserved areas,’ said Kirsty Southgate, director of the Experiential and Promotions team at Acamar Films. ‘We are delighted to be able to offer a very special experience to Costa Cruises’ youngest guests, who will be able to get to know and interact with Bing, making their holiday even more memorable. This partnership reflects our commitment to always offering enriching experiences to families and creating unforgettable memories for both children and their parents.’

‘The arrival of Bing on board our ships will allow us to enrich the holiday experience we offer families with something unique and special,’ added Paolo Reggiani, Entertainment Director of Costa Cruises. ‘Bing is extremely popular among children, so we are confident that our young guests will love participating in the entertainment activities we have organized for them on the Costa Toscana and Costa Smeralda. Through this partnership we will not just offer entertainment, but we will make them experience unforgettable moments that will remain in the hearts of families even after disembarking’.

Bing, an animation program seen at least once by 2.2 billion people worldwide, with more than 7 billion views on YouTube obtained through channels in 34 different countries and more than 1 million hours of total replays every day, has been able to distinguish itself over the years for the very high educational and value character of its stories, which narrate the micro-dramas of children’s daily lives in a highly authentic and educational key. Thanks to the intimate relationship that Bing has been able to establish with his young fans, families have welcomed him and his friends into their homes, embracing the teachings expressed in each episode of the animated series and integrating the characters’ lives into their own daily lives.

The collaboration between Costa Cruises and Acamar Films stems from the need to make the experience on board of the youngest guests unforgettable, full of initiatives and surprises that promise to accompany children and parents on an unprecedented holiday. Once again Bing will be at the side of families with all its spontaneity, not only at home, but also on the most beautiful itineraries in the Mediterranean.

During the summer of 2024, Costa Toscana and Costa Smeralda will explore Italy, France and Spain on week-long cruises, taking in timeless atmospheres, cities of art, beaches and beautiful landscapes. Costa Smeralda will visit Genoa, Marseille, Barcelona, Cagliari, Naples and Civitavecchia/Rome, while Costa Toscana will call at Savona, Marseille, Barcelona, Ibiza, Palermo and Civitavecchia/Rome.
