Juneau Limits Daily Cruise Ship Passengers starting in 2026

In a landmark decision to preserve the city’s unique character and protect its natural environment, Juneau has agreed to impose strict limits on the number of cruise ship passengers disembarking daily.

Beginning in 2026, the daily cap will be set at 16,000 people on most days, with a reduced limit of 12,000 on Saturdays.

This decision follows years of community discussions, environmental impact studies, and negotiations between city officials, local businesses, and the cruise industry.
