Port Canaveral reveals first ships that will use new cruise terminal
Port Canaveral commissioners this week approved the first of a series of contracts for construction of a new cruise terminal on the port’s north side. Port officials also revealed two of the cruise lines expected to use the new terminal.
The new terminal — being referred to “Terminal X” for the time being — will be built on the current site of North Cargo Berth 8 and directly across from Cruise Terminal 5.
Commissioners on Wednesday unanimously approved a $1.45 million increase in a purchase order with AtkinsReails USA for marine improvement design at North Cargo Berth 8 that will be phased in for use of the berth for cruise ships.
