Mount Pleasant council members discuss future of cruise ships at Patriots Point
Patriots Point could be the next stop for Carnival Cruise. The agreement between the South Carolina Port Authority and the cruise line is expected to come to an end at the end of the year.
Though Carnival Cruise Line will bid aloha to its Charleston port at the end of the year, the town of Mount Pleasant isn’t planning on rolling out the red carpet as a new destination location.
Mayor Will Haynie and Mount Pleasant Town lawyers said ferrying cruise passengers from the harbor to Patriots Point is currently against state law.
