Poseidon Expeditions Announces 2025-26 Arctic and Antarctic Seasons – Marks 11th Year in Polar Regions Aboard Sea Spirit

The Sea SpiritPoseidon Expeditions, which focuses on remote polar cruise exploration in the high latitudes, has opened reservations for May 2025 through September 2026 cruises in the Arctic and Antarctic, all aboard Sea Spirit.

The 2025-26 series of cruises will be the 11th consecutive year for Poseidon’s popular programs aboard this nimble expedition vessel.

All-new, “super” early booking rates are available through the end of June 2024 for the newly announced 2025 Arctic and October 2025-February 2026 Antarctic programs, with discounts as generous as 20 percent off the regular rates, depending on category reserved. From July through the end of October 2024 these discounts will be reduced by five percent, representing a significant savings for polar adventurers.

The stylish and well-appointed expedition ship Sea Spirit carries just over 100 guests, providing for an intimate experience without the crowds of larger expedition vessels. Applying the “super” early booking discount, Summer 2025 rates for the all-suite Sea Spirit begin at just $4,756 per person (triple occupancy) for the May 17-28 12-day sub-Arctic British & Faroe Isles cruise. “Super” double-occupancy rates begin at $6,626 for this program.

For those looking for a “full-on” Arctic expedition above 60º north, adventurers may opt for the 10-day June 7-16, 2025 West Svalbard & Polar Ice Edge program. Triple-occupancy rates are just $6,371 per person; double-occupancy rates begin at $8,836.

Antarctic rates in 2025-26 begin at just $8,836 per person if three people share a spacious Triple Suite. This rate applies to the 12-day family-oriented Dec. 17, 2025, “Christmas at the Antarctica Peninsula” cruise and is also valid for the 12-day Feb. 7-18 or Feb. 17-28, 2026, “Realm of Penguins & Icebergs” adventure. Double occupancy rates for these departures begin at $11,726.

For those wishing to visit South Georgia , home of gigantic King Penguin colonies, and the Falkland Islands, this same suite for three with the “super” early booking discount brings a Feb. 27-Mar. 21, 2026, “Antarctic Wildlife Adventure” cruise to just $14,191 per person. Double occupancy rates for these departures begin at $18,781.

Sea Spirit offers all-suite accommodations ranging from 215 to 463 square feet (20-43 square meters). There are two multi-purpose lounges for educational programming and entertainment, a restaurant that can accommodate all passengers in one seating, a well-stocked polar library, and ample outdoor deck space to enjoy the polar landscapes and wildlife.

Activities both on and off the ship are directed by a team of experienced, bilingual polar guides, scientists and educators. Guests are offered many opportunities to venture from the ship. Shore landings provide the chance to explore and to partake in guide-led interpretive walks and photography workshops. Optional Sea kayaking can be arranged in both polar regions, extending passengers’ reach into the icy ecosystems.

Overnight camping can be arranged for those wishing a more intensive experience at the Antarctic Peninsula. The ship’s expedition staff-to-passenger ratio of 1:9 is one of the most generous in the business.
