CDC: 10 of 12 cruise ship outbreaks due to norovirus year to date

In a follow-up on previous reports on cruise ship outbreaks investigated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Vessel Sanitation Program (VSP), officials did an update last week showing that ten of the 12 outbreaks investigated were due to norovirus (see list below).

Norovirus is a very contagious virus. You can get norovirus from an infected person, from contaminated food or water, or by touching contaminated surfaces.
