The Luxury Cruise Ship Resilient Lady Has Docked At Bodrum Cruise Port, Turkey
The Resilient Lady, the newest addition to the Virgin Voyages fleet, has docked at Bodrum Cruise Port during its inaugural voyage. The cruise ship with Virgin’s distinctive style will make a total of 16 calls to Bodrum throughout the year.
Bodrum Cruise Port, operated by Global Ports Holding, the world’s largest cruise port operator, is proud to host the Resilient Lady of Virgin Voyages. It is worth noting that Bodrum Cruise Port is the only Turkish destination included in the Resilient Lady’s itinerary this year.
On the occasion of the inaugural voyage of Resilient Lady to Bodrum Cruise Port, a special welcome ceremony was held at the port for the guests. They were greeted with a festive marching brass band, authentic gifts and delicious Turkish treats including traditional Maraş ice cream.
The luxurious Resilient Lady, flying under the flag of the Bahamas, arrived at Bodrum Cruise Port from Mykonos on Thursday, May 11th at 8 am. The ship is scheduled to depart towards Piraeus around 8 pm, marking the end of its short but unforgettable visit to the breathtakingly beautiful port of Bodrum. The ship predominantly accommodates passengers from American, British, with a total of 1444 passengers and 1096 crew members.
Speaking at the ceremony, Aziz Güngör, Global Ports Holding, Director of East Med, said, “We anticipate welcoming 138 calls and 125,000 passengers at Bodrum Cruise Port in 2023. Moreover, as a homeport, we will host the Turkish cruise ship Blue Sapphire for its 46 calls. The growing interest in luxury cruises to Bodrum aligns with the extensive promotional initiatives of Global Ports Holding and the increasing worldwide recognition of Bodrum as a luxury destination.”
Virgin Voyages, a distinguished part of the globally acclaimed Virgin brand, offers a cruise experience that offers ultra-luxe vibe as a blend of cruise ship and yacht-like experience exclusively for adults. The newly added Resilient Lady, carrying the flag of the Bahamas and measuring 278 meters in length, can accommodate 2,770 passengers and 1,160 crew members. With American and British nationals being the majority of passengers, the ship carries Virgin’s distinctive style.
Virgin Voyages has announced plans to organize 16 calls to Bodrum Cruise Port in 2023, followed by an increase to 17 calls in 2024. The Resilient Lady ship’s summer itineraries will cover the Bodrum Cruise Port, the Greek Islands, and the Adriatic Sea, while the ship will travel to Australia during the winter season. The ship’s versatile routes aim to offer travelers a range of destination options throughout the year.
