A Next-Gen Family Holiday in the Galápagos with Ecoventura: Curated by Abercrombie & Kent

Ecoventura's TheoryAbercrombie & Kent is expanding its portfolio in the Galápagos Islands with its preferred partner, Ecoventura, a leader in sustainable travel.

The company recently added ‘Evolve,’ the third expedition yacht in Ecoventura’s upgraded fleet, collectively the newest and greenest in the islands. Carrying just 20 guests each, they are floating boutique hotels and the only Galápagos vessels accepted into the esteemed Relais & Châteaux collection.

“The enchanted islands of the Galápagos are magical for kids and adults alike, and chartering a yacht is an ideal way to reconnect with friends and family members who live across the country — or around the world,” said Stefanie Schmudde, Abercrombie & Kent’s Vice President of Product Development & Operations.

“Cruising through this fascinating open-air wildlife museum offers something for everyone, from snorkeling with sea lions to coming face to face with blue-footed boobies – and plenty of time to kayak, paddleboard or just relax. Working with Ecoventura, A&K can offer our guests a combination of luxury and sustainability that is becoming the definition of next-level family holidays.”

A Choice of Ways to Cruise
Experience the Galápagos as a couple, with a circle of friends or family members, or as a solo traveller, on an exclusive itinerary designed by A&K. Book an individual cabin, just like a room at a hotel, sharing the vessel’s amenities, excursions and meals with fellow guests. Or reserve the entire vessel on a private charter, with the ability to customize land activities for the group’s interests – and even include a photographer or masseuse. Regardless of the type of travel, A&K can customize a one-of-a-kind Tailor Made holiday with adventures on mainland Ecuador and Peru.

Ecoventura’s fleet of three sister ships, ‘Origin,’ ‘Theory,’ and ‘Evolve’ each offer a choice of 10 staterooms, all located on the same deck with full-length panoramic windows and en suite bathrooms, complete with a rainfall shower with ocean view. Onboard amenities include a concierge, fitness center, sundeck with loungers and daybeds, a Jacuzzi, and sustainably-sourced cuisine. All meals are a la carte and inspired by Relais & Châteaux, with four-course plated dinners and barbecue lunches.

The yachts rotate between two seven-night itineraries, Northern & Western Route and Southern & Central Route, which can be combined into a comprehensive two-week holiday. There is a naturalist for every ten guests, one of the highest naturalist-to-passenger ratio in the region.

Sustainability
Ecoventura has been a leader in sustainable tourism in the Galápagos since 1991. Sustainable features on each yacht reduce fossil fuel consumption by more than 30%, with a stabilizing system and cutting-edge bow design for smoother and faster sailing (up to 14 knots). In September 2022 Ecoventura installed two new state-of-the-art recycling machines on the island of San Cristobal. In partnership with Avianca, they return 100 percent of all recyclable materials to continental Ecuador, allowing Ecoventura to meet their goal of ensuring no waste produced is sent to landfills in the Galápagos.
