Japan’s Kobe port welcomes first foreign cruise ship, Diamond Princess, in 3 years
A foreign cruise ship has docked at Kobe Port in western Japan for the first time in about three years. Japan had suspended arrivals of cruise vessels following a coronavirus outbreak on board the British-registered Diamond Princess.
People waved flags to greet the Diamond Princess when it sailed into Kobe on Wednesday.
The arriving passengers had to have their temperatures taken and show vaccination certificates. They underwent quarantine and immigration procedures before heading to their destinations for sightseeing.
