Karen Cameron Joins Ambassador Cruise Line As Divisional Sales Manager

Ambassador Cruise Line (Logo)Ambassador Cruise Line announced the appointment of Karen Cameron as Divisional Sales Manager as the premium-value, no-fly cruise line continues to bolster its sales team.

With oversight of trade business in the North of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, Karen Cameron joined Ambassador on 1 February, reporting into Head of Distribution, Nicola Harper and working alongside Louise Tansey, who is also joining Ambassador as Divisional Sales Manager, South and Wales.

Karen has worked in the travel industry for almost 30 years, beginning her career as a YTS trainee and progressing to management roles with Stewart Travel, Barrhead and Thomas Cook. At Carnival UK, Karen worked across P&O Cruises, Cunard and Princess Cruises as Regional Manager covering Scotland, the North and Northern Ireland and, more recently, she was Regional Head Of Experience at Haven, part of Bourne Leisure.

Karen’s role will see her foster existing commercial relationships in the North to maximise sales opportunities while instigating new agent and trade partnerships as the Ambassador brand and offering continues to grow. As reported last week , Ambassador’s booking revenue was up 341% year-on-year for the first two weeks of January, with a healthy outlook on future sailings across both its cruise ships – Ambience (currently in service) and Ambition (launching May 2023 and serving seven UK departure ports).

A year-long, UK-wide ship visit programme for trade partners and agents launched earlier this month has proved hugely popular with a record number of entries received.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Karen to the Ambassador Cruise Line family as Divisional Sales Manager,” says Nicola Harper, Head of Distribution, Ambassador Cruise Line. “With a great reputation in the trade, Karen has considerable leadership experience and deep knowledge and insight of the UK holiday market, which will only benefit the brand as we look to showcase our premium-value product to our valued agent and trade partners.”

On her appointment, Karen said: “I am absolutely delighted to be appointed as Divisional Sales Manager for Ambassador Cruise Line. It’s an exciting time in the company’s journey, and I can’t wait to get onboard with the team in Purfleet while working with our key contacts across the North in my new role. I’m really looking forward to providing them with all the support and tools they need as Ambassador continues to provide exceptional levels of service to agents and trade partners.”

Ambassador is looking to recruit further members to its trade support team with additional hires set to be announced in the coming weeks. Concludes Nicola Harper: “I recognise knowledge and experience of the product are key and the bolstering of the trade team is there to support and educate our valued trade partners. There is a big market for our premium-value product, and the trade can rest assured that the Ambassador Sales Team will be with them every step of the way to support their efforts to increase brand awareness and ultimately drive sales.”
