Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Eyes Two Cruise Newbuilds
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines is set to order two new mid-sized cruise ships, according a report by Nikkei Asia.
The report said that President and CEO Takeshi Hashimoto said the company was eyeing a $710 million investment in two ships as part of a plan to diversify operations.
The company already operates one ship in the 1990-built Nippon Maru, which could be retired in favor of the two new ships.
The brand serves the domestic Japanese market with a variety of short- and long-itineraries from Japanese homeports.
