“Amadeus Cara”, the 17th vessel in a long line of ship-making successes, joined the Amadeus – Lüftner Cruises fleet last June

On Wednesday, June 29, the 17th vessel in a long line of ship-making successes joined the AMADEUS fleet. She was christened by Godmother Anna Lüftner who unveiled the name of the 5-star river ship, AMADEUS Cara, amid a gorgeous backdrop of the Cologne Cathedral in Germany.

After a joyous naming ceremony and traditional blessing, the ultra-modern 135-meter river cruise liner was brilliantly showcased during a round trip cruise on the Rhine. The AMADEUS Cara offers a maximum of 162 guests an unforgettable river vacation complete with a multitude of amenities, including beautifully appointed, contemporary staterooms, and culinary delights of the highest order.

With its window fronts extending almost across the entire width of the cabins, the ship conveys an impressively luxurious sense of space with a tasteful, yet modern interior.

On board, various bar areas offer incredible views of the surrounding riverscapes while simultaneously inviting guests to relax and enjoy AMADEUS Cara’s unique public spaces; such as the “River Terrace” at the bow, the “AMADEUS-Club” at the stern, the “Café Vienna” with its overview of the main entrance, and the Panorama-Bar with dance floor.

The reception and lobby areas are more stylish than ever before and promise to make every entrance a grand one. The spacious sundeck surprises with an Al Fresco dining area and lounge that can be fully utilized even on stretches with low bridge crossings. A contemporary wellness area with massage services and a fitness room leave no vacation wishes unfulfilled.

The AMADEUS Cara has already received the Green Award due to it being outfitted with the most modern ship engine available complete with trend-setting technology which reduces CO2 output significantly. The vessel also boasts a state-of- the-art air filter system which ensures hygienic air throughout the interior of the ship.

The AMADEUS Cara was built at the Dutch shipyard TeamCo Shipyard. She will cruise under the German flag mainly on the Danube, extending as far as the Danube Delta and the Rhine. Her premiere voyage departed from Cologne on July 2 and traveled via romantic Rüdesheim, to Wertheim, Würzburg, Bamberg and Nuremberg, as well as Regensburg to Passau in Bavaria.
