Virgin Voyages' Resilient Lady (Courtesy Virgin Voyages)Virgin Voyages is now setting its sights on Australia and New Zealand, today announcing its plans to go down under starting in 2023.

Resilient Lady, the newest ship in Virgin Voyages’ four-ship fleet, is saying “Ahoy!” and inviting Aussie adults to experience the glamour and unmatched service and experience synonymous with the Virgin brand in one of the world’s premier bucket-list destinations.

After a sunny season sailing around Greece, Resilient Lady will set off on a trans-continental voyage, giving Aussies the chance to sail the high seas from Athens to Sydney in style.

Included in the 44-night haul are three individual itineraries: “Ancient Athens to Modern Dubai,” “Dubai Delights to Singapore Sights,” and “Singapore, Bali and Australia.”

After this epic journey home, the ship will arrive at Station Pier in Port Melbourne, Victoria. Once there, Sailors will have the opportunity to Set Sail the Virgin way, experiencing the exclusively adult voyages filled with super yacht style and imagined by a creative collective of the world’s most renowned interior designers.

Resilient Lady will then set off on a journey of exploration, taking Sailors to stunning destinations across Australia including Hobart and Burnie in Tasmania, along with Sydney in New South Wales. She’s also set her sights on New Zealand with itineraries that include ports of call in Picton, Napier, Tauranga, Auckland, Christchurch and Dunedin.

Resilient Lady will depart from Melbourne, offering a mix of itineraries, ranging from two to 14 nights. Sailors can enjoy chef-driven culinary offerings at six signature restaurants and food from more than 14 other eateries (all included), to HIIT and bungee classes to fuel the day. Virgin Voyages also brings jaw dropping entertainment with its festival-like line-up, sun-kissed days spent around the pool, and hours lost at the mermaid hideaway that is Redemption Spa. On shore, Sailors will be dazzled with authentic, locally driven experiences that tap into the curious, adventure-craving spirits in us all.

Fellow Australian and Virgin Voyages’ President and Chief Experience Officer, Nirmal Saverimuttu, said, “Australia and New Zealand are without question the most beautiful countries in the world, and we knew that these destinations, paired with the Virgin Voyages experience, will make it the most incredible holiday for our Sailors. The Virgin brand is known and adored by Australians and New Zealanders, and we are committed to delivering a holiday experience you will love and memories that will last a lifetime.”

Setting sail with Virgin Voyages includes popular elements of the traditional cruising experience while adding a unique, distinctly Virgin twist. Designed exclusively for travelers 18+, Virgin Voyages’ ships were inspired by the phrase ‘superyacht glamour for all’ and ensuring a direct connection with the ocean and environment. Intimate spaces reign supreme as the backdrop for convivial social gatherings with bars and restaurants designed by the world’s leading architects. Menus were curated by Michelin-starred chefs, live music and theatrical productions are offered throughout the voyage, and moments of detox are built into the experience so Sailors can completely recharge.

Virgin Group Founder Sir Richard Branson described it as an exciting milestone for the brand. “Australia has a very special place in my heart, and we can’t wait for Australians & New Zealanders to meet our Resilient Lady and experience all that she has to offer in true Virgin style,” Sir Richard said. “For more than 50 years, Virgin companies have been innovating and making industries better for our customers. Virgin Voyages is very much charting its own path, offering a fresh perspective on cruise travel with all the elements of the Virgin experience that people love.”

Resilient Lady will sail through Australia and New Zealand from Dec. 11, 2023 – March 27, 2024. Reservations are now open, and Sailors can save up to 30% off voyage fares.
