Yvonne Catterfeld is godmother of the A-ROSA SENA. Actress and singer christens the environmentally friendly Rhine ship on 14 May in Cologne
On 14 May 2022, the newest member of the A-ROSA fleet – the A-ROSA SENA – will be christened in Cologne. Godmother will be the famous German actress and singer Yvonne Catterfeld.
“The A-ROSA SENA will set new standards on the river in terms of design and green technologies, and I am very proud to christen this innovative ship,” explains Catterfeld. “I often go on holiday on the A-ROSA ships myself and we particularly enjoy the family-friendliness on board. With the A-ROSA SENA, I am therefore very excited about the family cabins, the Kids Club and the children’s pool,” the singer continues.
After the A-ROSA FLORA in Mainz and the A-ROSA ALVA in Porto, the A-ROSA SENA is already the third ship to be christened by the brand ambassador.
Yvonne Catterfeld will be supported at the christening by the two ambassadors of the next generation Clara Katharina Eichler (14) and Enna Marie Kate Sandmann (10). The daughters of the two A-ROSA managing directors symbolically stand for the typical A-ROSA multigenerational cruises as well as the importance of climate action for future generations.
The celebration will take place in the presence of all A-ROSA employees on board the ship. “With the invitation to the christening of the A-ROSA SENA, we want to say thank you to our employees for their loyalty and commitment over the past years,” explains Jörg Eichler, CEO of A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH. “In addition, we would like our entire team to get to know the new ship, because with its low-emission propulsion with battery storage and the many offers on board, it embodies the future of A-ROSA.”
Also, various events for sales partners will take place on board afterwards. On 21 May, the A-ROSA SENA will set off on her maiden voyage, departing from Cologne and heading for the most beautiful cities along the Rhine, such as Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Antwerp.
Yvonne Catterfeld has been an A-ROSA brand ambassador since 2014, but she enjoys spending time on the premium ships not only during media events but also in her private life: “We always feel very comfortable and cared for on board the A-ROSA ships – the crew is really fantastic. That’s why I’m particularly pleased that when the A-ROSA SENA was built, thought was also given to the crew and they have cosy cabins, their own recreation room and a crew mess reminiscent of a modern, high-quality restaurant.”
Yvonne Catterfeld has already received numerous and prestigious awards in her career for her achievements as an actress and singer, such as the Echo and twice the Bambi. At the end of 2021, she released her eighth studio album “Change” with English-language songs between gospel, R&B and soul. From 2016 to 2020, she was a coach on the singing show “The Voice of Germany”. Yvonne Catterfeld is also a successful actress in a wide variety of cinema and television roles. Since 2016, she can be seen as an investigator together with Götz Schubert in the successful crime series “Wolfsland” on German TV.
