The port of Palamós resumes cruise activity with the arrival of 600 passengers

MedCruise (Logo)On 12 October, the port of Palamós and its tourist destination welcomed the cruise ship “Marella Explorer 2”, operated by the cruise company Marella Cruises, with 600 passengers on board.

This was the first cruise ship to call at a port on the Costa Brava after a year and a half of inactivity caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The ports of Palamós and Roses are expecting 8 cruise ships to dock during this autumn, with a passenger count ranging between 40% and 60% of the cruise ships’ capacity.

During these months, the cruise companies, the ports of Palamós and Roses, and the Costa Brava tourist destination have worked hard to get the protocol ready, with all the necessary health and safety measures in place to attend to the cruise ships, the passengers and the crew in optimal conditions.

Costa Brava Cruise Ports, which promotes the ports of Palamós and Roses and their tourist destinations, is now working on the organisation of the 60th Medcruise General Assembly, which will be held at the Costa Brava in May 2022. This event will project the Costa Brava and will put Palamós, Roses and its surroundings at the forefront of the international cruise industry.
