Scylla becomes Europe’s first river cruise operator to resume river cruising with a Douro itinerary

The AndorinhaLeading Swiss river cruise operator, Scylla AG, resumed operations with a cruise on Portugal’s Douro River on 22 May – becoming, once again, the first operator to restart river cruises in Europe after seven months of Covid-19 restrictions, as they did in 2020.

Passengers on board the 88-guest MS ANDORINHA were able to enjoy a pleasant seven-night cruise along Portugal’s golden Douro River.

Arno Reitsma, CEO of Scylla AG, said: “We are very happy to be able to cruise on Europe’s greatest rivers again and are also very proud for being the first operator to do so in this season. We have made a successful start with the Douro itineraries and are pleased to announce the roll out of our river cruises in Germany at the beginning of June.”

Swiss operator, Scylla AG, runs a fleet of riverboats for various European charter clients.
