New American Countess to Host First American River Golf Classic Featuring Four Famed Courses and PGA Champion Jim Gallagher, Jr.

American Countess  (Rendering Gulf Island Fabrication, Inc)American Queen Steamboat Company announces the inaugural American River Golf Classic itinerary featuring the opportunity to play at four of the most prestigious courses along the Lower Mississippi River.

Sailing May 8-16, 2021 from Memphis to New Orleans on the new American Countess, guests can tee off at the renowned Colonial Country Club, The Bluffs in St. Francisville and the famed Copper Mill Golf Club and Black Bear Golf Club in Louisiana. Onboard the boutique-style riverboat, there will be a special appearance by five-time PGA Tour winner and current NBC on-course reporter Jim Gallagher, Jr., who will play a round with guests at The Bluffs in St. Francisville and take part in a Q&A session.

The Memphis to New Orleans itinerary will feature plenty of golf talk paired with southern hospitality as the American Countess paddlewheel churns down the river. Each section of the Lower Mississippi River introduces guests to its own distinct personality, providing golfers a new way to explore their favorite sport.

The American River Golf Classic itinerary is offered on the American Countess, the newest gem in American Queen Steamboat Company’s riverboat fleet. With a reduced capacity of 166 guests, the American Countess was christened on March 21, 2021 and joined the American Queen and American Duchess on the Tennessee, Ohio, Cumberland and Mississippi rivers. Her sleek, contemporary design offers plenty of open space for guests, especially the portside bar, which will delight guests with an 80-foot panoramic view. With four decks, including a Sun Deck, and 123 inviting staterooms in four categories, this paddlewheeler is a home away from home on six- to 15-day itineraries.

The American River Golf Classic cruise-only fares begin at $2,599 per-person and the Rounds on the River add-on package starts at $1,499 per-person. The add-on package includes one round of golf on four premier course, lunches, special giveaways, all equipment transportation and club cleaning prior to play.
