Go Further South Slow TV Documentary to Antarctica with Heritage Expeditions
Pioneering small-ship expedition cruise company Heritage Expeditions iconic, 30-day Ross Sea voyage to Antarctica ‘In the Wake of Scott & Shackleton’ has been captured in an epic, 12-hour Slow TV documentary Go Further South premiering at 7:30am on Good Friday (April 10, 2020) on New Zealand’s Prime television station.
Heritage Expeditions General Manager David Bowen described the upcoming documentary, filmed aboard the company’s purpose-built polar expedition vessel Akademik Shokalskiy during its 8 January 2020 departure, as essential viewing for anyone with an interest in Antarctica, its wildlife and history.

Long considered a true bucket list destination, Heritage Expeditions is one of the few operators exploring Antarctica’s Ross Sea (and the most experienced after 30 years of operation), and invited production company Greenstone TV, creators of previous Slow TV show Go South, along on its authentic expedition to capture the magic for this extraordinary documentary.
The 12-hour documentary will be followed by the premier of a condensed, 3-hour version of Go Further South. Both documentaries can also be screened live in New Zealand on Sky Go.
In the Wake of Scott & Shackleton is a 30-day exploration down to the Ross Sea including New Zealand and Australia’s Subantarctic Islands. Travel is aboard an authentic, ice-strengthened expedition cruise ship with a maximum of up to 50 guests.
