Expedition Cruise Specialists offering savings of up to AU$8,500 per couple on British Isles expedition cruise
Expedition Cruise Specialists is offering savings of up to AU$8,500 per couple on a 13-day expedition-style cruise of the British Isles aboard the stylish 114-passenger Sea Spirit.
Departing from Plymouth in southern England on 08 May 2020, the ‘Legendary History & Wild Nature’ voyage follows the west coast of England and Wales before concluding in the historic Scottish city of Edinburgh.
Highlights include exploring the rarely-visited Scilly Islands, the Inner and Outer Hebrides, Orkney Islands and the Shetlands. The itinerary also features two days discovering County Waterford on Ireland’s southeastern coast, the highlight being a guided tour of the factory at the House of Waterford Crystal.
In Scotland’s Inner Hebrides there’s a visit planned to Iona Abbey. Founded in 563 AD, the abbey is one of Scotland’s most historic and sacred sites and one of the oldest Christian religious centres in Western Europe. The adjacent graveyard is said to be the final resting place of numerous medieval kings, including Macbeth.
According to Expedition Cruise Specialists’ General Manager Andrew Castles, the cruise promises to shine a light on areas of the British Isles most travellers haven’t been before. “The real beauty of expedition cruising is that it can take you to places otherwise very difficult to reach, places like the Scilly Islands and the Shetlands’ he said.
“And of course you will be travelling with an expert team of naturalists and guides, including renowned author Dr Huw Lewis-Jones, who will be on hand to explain the rich history of these incredible locations and point out interesting birdlife including Arctic terns, northern gannetts and colourful puffins.”
Discounted cruise prices start at AU$9,456 per person for a Main Deck Suite (saving $4,900 per couple), through to $16,696 per person for the top-of-the-range Owner’s Suite, a saving of $8,500 per couple. The savings are available on new bookings made before 31 October 2019, or until sold out.
