Chinese National Treasures on World Dream (September to October 2019)

Dream Cruises (Logo)In celebration of the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, or the Moon Festival, which will take place on September 13 this year, Dream Cruises will present three puppetry performances at sea, comprised of Marionettes Theatre, Shadow Puppetry and Glove Puppetry on World Dream,
where traditional Chinese folklore and mythical tales of the moon will come to life.

Chinese Puppetry, which includes rod puppets, string puppets, glove puppets, shadow puppets and hand puppets, is an ancient art form that dates back to the 1870’s.

Hong Kong Puppet and Shadow Art Center will present an exclusive shadow puppet performance that has been tailor-made for Dream Cruises. Inspired by the incredible love story between a mermaid and an astronaut, as depicted in the hull artwork of World Dream, this one-of-a-kind performance feature innovative sound and lighting special effects, as well as unique East meet West elements that you won’t want to miss.
