Spirit of Enderby Reveals Fresh New Look Ahead of Heritage Expeditions 2019 Russian Far East Season
Following a two week makeover in the Philippines, Heritage Expeditions trusty expedition vessel Spirit of Enderby (Professor Khromov) is cruising into the pioneering expedition company’s Russian season with a fresh new look.
The iconic 35-year-old former polar research vessel is reliving her heyday sporting a freshly painted exterior. Inside, her suites, cabins and hallways have been spruced up with new wallpaper and skirting, while laminate aluminium plates have been fixed to the lower half of the hallway walls to create a fresh and dynamic aesthetic that reflects her industrious lineage.
Bathrooms have also been refreshed with new floors and new light fittings have been installed throughout the ship; the revamp coincides with the recent installation of Wi-Fi internet access on the vessel and follows the refurbishment of the bar, library and lounge, dining room and lecture theatre last year.
Heritage Expeditions General Manager David Bowen said the company’s flag ship was looking as good as she did when she was christened in 1984 and primed for another year of expedition adventures.
Spirit of Enderby is currently en route to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy where she will launch the Russian season with the ‘Russia’s Ring of Fire’ expedition at the end of the month.
