Skagen, Denmark, Looks Forward To Third Recordbreaking Season
Skagen | The Top Of Denmark
44 cruise ships carrying up to 73.000 guests are going to call at Skagen in 2019. An increase of almost 10.000 guests compared to 2018, where 63.500 cruise guests visited Skagen. Ships calling at Skagen in 2019 are generally larger than the previous seasons.
Out of 44 ships 9 are first calls and among these are vessels from Marella Cruises, Cruise & Maritime, Saga Cruises, Phoenix Reisen and Viking Cruises. Marella Cruises and Cruise & Maritime are quite new cruise lines to Skagen.
This year it is 20 years since Port of Skagen and Cruise Skagen started promoting Skagen as a cruise destination and we are very grateful and proud of what we have achieved so far, especially since the new cruise facilities were completed in 2015, says CEO Port of Skagen Willy. B. Hansen.
“We are always working on developing our product and the next port development project meant for fisheries will also benefit the cruise vessels as approach conditions will be improved significantly.”
