Take a deeper look at the fjords on Spirit of Discovery’s new “Fjord Adventurer” cruise

Saga (Logo)A close-up view of spectacular fjords, imposing mountains and shimmering waterfalls awaits walkers on Spirit of Discovery’s new Fjord Adventurer cruise.

With an expert walking guide, guests on Saga’s new ship Spirit of Discovery can breathe in the clear air as they explore Bergen’s beautiful countryside, join a day’s walk from Stavanger to Pulpit Rock and take the picturesque route from Geiranger to the hidden Storseterfossen waterfall.

Spirit of Discovery cruises along Geirangerfjord, one of the longest and deepest fjords in the world, and moors overnight in the idyllic town of Geiranger for a more immersive view of this amazing port. Here vertical mountains drop into the mirror-like fjord ribboned by waterfalls with names including Seven Sisters and Bridal Veil.

An adventurer is on board to give inspiring lectures and for those still counting their steps there’s a pedometer challenge, a well-equipped gym and morning walks around the ship’s deck to rack up more miles.

While on deck, guests can also keep an eye open for sealife with members of ORCA, the marine conservation charity. Whilst onboard guests can look forward to deck watches, a programme of talks and optional wildlife excursions and experience several exciting opportunities to get up close to many of these amazing animals.

As well as the glory of nature, Spirit of Discovery also boasts beauty, space and comfort. Each of the 999 cabins has a balcony and every aspect of the luxury, boutique ship has been designed to surprise and amaze with sumptuous décor and furnishings.

The ship also has its own theatre with nightly shows, live music, guest entertainers and cinema screenings.
