New Management Team For Cruise Scotland In Record Year
The organisation successfully marketing Scottish ports to the international cruise industry has a new management team in what is proving another record-breaking season. The appointments follow Cruise Scotland’s agm and come ahead of participation at Seatrade Cruise Med in Lisbon later this month.
Taking over as Chair is Robert Mason, Forth Ports’ Head of Cruise for Capital Cruising in Scotland, who is succeeded as Vice Chair by John McGuigan from Aberdeen Harbour.
Allison McGuire, Port of Cromarty Firth, has been appointed Market Development Manager, with Alison Downs, Holy Loch Port, as Secretary. Andrew Hemphill, Peel Ports, is Past Chair. Richard Alexander, European Cruise Service UK, remains Treasurer.
The new chair will lead Cruise Scotland’s representation on stand 362 at Cruise Med from 19-20 September. Robert Mason said: “With another record season for cruise ships and passengers at ports around the country nearing conclusion, we are determined to keep the momentum going in a sector which contributes almost £100 million annually to the Scottish economy.”
Established in December, 2008, Cruise Scotland’s membership includes 16 ports, two major ground handlers, and five associate members in the tourism sector.
