Miss Alaska – Alyssa London – Joins Offshore Outpost as 2018 Alaska Adventure Host

We are thrilled to welcome Miss Alaska USA 2017 Alyssa London onboard the Pacific Provider on June 17, kicking off our inaugural 2018 summer Alaska season. Miss London will serve as our first-ever Adventure Host – a new program featuring unique individuals with a special connection to Alaska or the Sea of Cortez.

Adventure Hosts will share their personal stories and perspectives of the culture and history of the places we visit – both onboard and through brand communications during the season.

“We offer guests an exclusive and intimate experience of some of the most stunning and diverse ecosystems in the world, and Alaska’s Prince William Sound is truly magical. Our Adventure Hosts have a deep and proud connection with the places we go and have demonstrated a unique ability to tell the local story. That’s why we’re excited to welcome Alyssa London as the Adventure Host for our inaugural Alaska season,” said Co-founder, Cole Lysaught.

As a tribal citizen of the Central Council of Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska, Alyssa London became the first Tlingit Miss Alaska USA in February 2017 and went on to place top ten at Miss USA 2017. In doing so, she became the first Miss Alaska USA to place as a finalist in 30 years, and the first Alaska Native woman to ever do so.

As Miss Alaska, Alyssa was appointed “2017 Cultural Ambassador for Sealaska Heritage Institute” and in this role has worked to showcase the vitality of not only her tribe’s culture, but also Alaska Native and indigenous cultures. In 2017 Alyssa was recognized as “Top 40 under 40” in Indian Country by the National Center of American Indian Enterprise Development for her work bringing awareness to the vitality of Native American culture today.

Wearing a robe with her clan crest of the Killerwhale drawn by Preston Singletary over her evening gown to emulate a ceremonial Tlingit robe, Alyssa won the title of “Gown of the Year” at the 2017 Global Beauty Awards.

“I’m proud to be a part of the rich history of culture and traditions in Alaska as a tribal member of the Central Council of the Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska. I am excited to share the ‘Eagle Raven Love Song’ and our tribe’s ‘Box of Daylight’ Story with Offshore Outpost’s guests on this voyage, and to work in partnership with them during their inaugural season to Alaska,” said Miss Alaska USA 2017, Alyssa London.

One of the unique aspects of the Offshore Outpost experience is the “hands-on” guest participation in each adventure. London will join guests in catching the entrée for the evening dinner – expertly prepared by a world-class chef; celebrate with Glacial Spirits, featuring cocktails chilled with glacial ice gathered by guests on an afternoon skiff excursion; and help the crew build a beach bonfire for breakfast or lunch as the Chief Expedition Officer shares stories about this amazing destination.
