Wild Earth Travel introduces Ponant’s multi-sensory “Blue Eye Lounge” to NZ Agents and clients
Wild Earth Travel introduces Ponant’s Blue Eye Lounge
Wild Earth Travel recently hosted a New Zealand roadshow with major travel partner, Ponant, that brought major news of the French Company’s new innovative additions- The PONANT EXPLORERS.
Throughout last week the roadshow hosted over 200 excited attendees over the three venues in Christchurch, Tauranga and Auckland. Guests were presented with the ‘inside scoop’ on these four new explorer ships. As well as the underwater passenger lounge, called BLUE EYE, located within the hull beneath the water line.
Aaron Russ, Wild Earth Travel General Manager, was pleased with the turnout and the enthusiastic response from prospective guests, “it’s always a delight to have the opportunity to present a world-leading small ship cruise product with such a point of difference”.
“As a significant partner of Ponant here in New Zealand, we are proud to be the experts in this cruise product and offer clientele this travel option that is entirely luxurious, explorative and extraordinary”.
“From leading many expeditions onboard Ponant ships myself I know first hand how clients have really enjoyed Ponant’s relaxed yet refined atmosphere aboard cruises to the most remote corners of the globe”, says Aaron.
Julie Rogers, Ponant BDM, presented the new ships as well as some of the company’s extensive voyages and the added news of Ponant’s new Icebreaker due to be completed in 2021.
“In keeping with our cruise line’s philosophy, each ship combines a limited guest capacity, sleek design, cutting-edge technology, and respect for the environment. They will enable Ponant to offer an ever-wider range of destinations”, says Julie.
The Explorers fleet design was entrusted to architect Jacques Rougerie, who is deeply passionate about the sea. Rougerie’s mission is to enable PONANT guests to perceive and feel the underwater universe that has never ceased to inspire him throughout his career.
The foundations of the ship’s innovative design can be put down to three concepts; Bionic and Biomimetic composition, as the lines of the lounge, furniture and fittings mirror the graphical reference of cetaceans and jellyfish, Global Listening sound design of the lounge gives guests a state-of-the-art experience in acoustic immersion by music composer Michel Redolfi, and then the non-intrusive underwater projectors enable observation of the of the seabed and photo-luminescent organisms.
Aaron is looking forward to being on board the new La Laperouse in February 2019 hosting a group of clients across the inaugural Tasman crossing from Sydney to Auckland. Or else Wild Earth Travel is taking reservations for Le Laperouse’s next visit to New Zealand waters again in January 2020 on The Sub Antarctic Islands Expedition from Hobart to Dunedin.
