P&O Cruises Australia Adds Comedy to its Event Activities at Sea

P&O Cruises Australia (logo)P&O Cruises is giving event organisers and delegates the opportunity to share a few laughs together with a record number of three-and-four-night comedy cruises in 2018 and 2019. Well-known names Jimeoin, Harley Breen, Claire Hooper and Matt Okine are just some of the 70 comedians who will headline a total of 72 dedicated comedy cruises between now and December next year.

The new comedy cruises are available across all five ships in P&O’s fleet, including its latest and largest ship, the 77,000-tonne Pacific Explorer which launched in June 2017.

Delegates can take part in a wide range of comedy performances onboard from Comedy Workshops, Comedy Gala Shows, the Comedy Gong Show where guest performers get judged by the audience, and Cocktails and Comedy, an intimate show to be enjoyed as the sun goes down.

P&O Cruises Corporate Groups Sales Manager Chris Rich said comedy cruises provided organisers with a unique activity for groups to take part in during a meeting or incentive at sea.

“Our comedy cruises feature many different types of comedy genres every day and night, from big marquee performances right through to intimate gigs in our many stylish bars and lounges.

“A meeting at sea is exciting, different and very enjoyable, and the feedback we receive from delegates and organisers is incredibly positive. The comedy shows form part of a variety of onboard activities that can bring teams together.

“From an organiser’s perspective, holding a meeting or incentive on a cruise is very easy to organise and incredibly good value – with the fare including meeting space, accommodation, main meals and entertainment.”

Mr Rich said P&O had experienced a 30 per cent increase in corporate group bookings in 2017 compared to 2016 and was anticipating more strong growth over the coming 12 months.

“More and more organisers are discovering that cruises offer a wonderful opportunity to give
delegates a truly special meeting experience. By taking a meeting away to sea you automatically
eliminate land-based distractions and create a great collegiate atmosphere,”
said Mr Rich.
