Explore West Africa Beyond the Exotic with Variety Cruises
Variety Cruises, a Greece-based boutique cruise company just launched its new program, the Rivers of West Africa, with two sailing locations in Dakar and Banjul. It features an 8-day cruise in the waterways of Senegal and Gambia which will start in the early April of 2018.
The company’s third generation as well as brand ambassador Constantine Venetopoulos will join this exciting journey and depart from Banjul, with his special mission.
During the in-depth discovery in West Africa Continent, Variety Cruises will offer passengers specifically selected tours including visiting exotic natural reserves and experiencing cultural customs.
Speaking of the main destination – Gambia, it is a less-known West African country with hidden gems and indigenous cultures. Among those themed tours, what is worthy highlighting is the second-term Kuntaur Film Festival which invites passengers to get involved and feel an authentic Gambia in the village of Lamin Koto.
This is exactly what Mr. Venetopoulos expects passengers to spend a meaningful and unforgettable journey with Variety Cruises.
Kuntaur Film Festival was initiated by Variety Cruises in 2014. It was born with a focus of bringing global education to Gambian communities through film. Typical activities include sharing classic films from all over the globe with children and their families. This time, the festival will be celebrated in Lamin Koto School – a primary school founded by the company in 2010.
In an open-air cinema using generators and mobile projectors to play movies, all passengers and children will receive one white t-shirt with a logo embodied as Africa projecting into the world like a cinema. A wide range of traditional home-cooked dishes, light snacks and beverages will also be provided.
Mr. Venetopoulos looks forward to welcoming passengers with luxury experience on yacht and exciting explorations in West Africa. “With what Variety Cruises offers, Gambia turns to be a top exotic destination to relax, a place to learn, a place to reflect, and a place to enjoy,” said Mr. Venetopoulos. “The sense of luxury not just lies in luxury goods purchase, but also means rare experience in exploring diversified cultures.”
The one sailing from Dakar, the capital Senegal will start from April 14th, 2018. Another one sailing from Banjul, the capital Gambia will start from April 08th, 2018. Both will be operated by M/Y Harmony G, one of the company’s most representative vessel.
