Cruise industry professionals to meet at Cartagena Cruise Forum on November 14

The Port Authority of Cartagena and the Institute of Tourism of Murcia Region are to convene and promote the celebration of CARTAGENA CRUISE FORUM on November 14 at the Isaac Peral Hall, Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena, Old CIM.

This forum will aim to present the business opportunities that cruise traffic offers to Cartagena and the region of Murcia with the participation of cruise companies, consignees and experts in the sector.

The event is organized by Cruises News Media Group, a consulting and media Company specializing in the cruise industry, and organizer of the International Cruise Summit in Madrid, the Excellence Cruise Awards, held in Cartagena in the last two years, as well as various events in the cruise industry throughout the entire Spanish nation.

The number of cruise passengers that arrive in the Port of Cartagena has risen exponentially in recent years; 150 stopovers and 230,000 passengers being the target for 2017, a significant increase over the 187,000 passengers received in 2016. The importance of port infrastructure for the development of the industry and the need to offer local tourist services adapted to the trends of the cruise market, is evident.

CARTAGENA CRUISE FORUM will analyze not only the world cruise industry, but also its fit in the tourism development of the Murcia region and the promotional initiatives carried out by the local and regional institutions. It will highlight the important role played by shore excursions agents. Those local companies interested in offering their resources and services to them can use a system of quick meetings with these agents during the coffee break.

In the roundtable that closes the forum, all these issues will be discussed by cruise line executives from MSC Cruises, Costa Cruises and Pullmantur, as well as Mundomar Cruises and consultants, BA Europe, and will be open to public participation.

The forum will be held on November 14 from 9:00 to 14:00 and will be delivered by experts and professionals in the business. It is an event aimed at professionals in the port sector, auxiliary industry, travel agencies, institutions related to tourism promotion, as well as hotel services, restaurants, museums, shops, tourist guides, and generally all who can benefit from the arrival of cruise passengers in Cartagena or who want to expand their knowledge of this industry.
