Farewell to John Honeywell – Mirror Travel’s award-winning cruise columnist Captain Greybeard

Mirror Travel’s renowned cruise columnist Captain Greybeard has died in a hospital in Hampshire after a short illness. He was 69. ‘Greybeard’ was the pseudonym of John Honeywell, the former Deputy Managing Editor of Mirror Group Newspapers, who left in 2009 after a distinguished Fleet Street career to concentrate on writing about holidays at sea on a full-time basis.
