Cruise Europe New Members: Fredericia, Cruise Telemark ports Brevik and Kragero, Foyle Port in Londonderry

This year and next see eight transit calls to Fredericia (Denmark) although passenger numbers differ with 11,400 expected this year and 7,200 next, according to Line Tange, cruise manager Cruise Fredericia.

Newcomers to the port are Holland America Line with Prinsendam, Silversea Cruises with Silver Cloud, TUI with Thomson Celebration. Celebrity Cruises returns but with Celebrity Eclipse for the first time.

Cruise Telemark ports Brevik and Kragero (Norway) are just one hour pilot distance from Skagerak, midway between Oslo and Kristiansand. This year six calls are booked in Kragero, five being from Noble Caledonia (Serenissima and Island Sky) and one from Phoenix Reisen (Deutschland).
Between 2012 and 2015, there were six calls split evenly between Kragero and Brevik. These included Saga Ruby and Fred Olsen Cruise Lines’ Boudicca as well as Sea Cloud II.

Derry/Londonderry is a 17th century walled city located in north west Ireland. Last year there were nine calls and 3,727 passengers visiting. This year there are eight booked bringing 4,697 on vessels including those from Princess Cruises, Oceania Cruises, Saga and Noble Caledonia.
There are two berths in the city centre, Queen’s Quay/Meadowbank with a maximum length of 135m, beam of 22m, draught of 6m (tidal) and air draught of 32m. Seven miles away there are two berths at the commercial port, Lisahally, where the maximum length is 195m, beam 29m, draught 7.5m and air draught 41m (tidal).
The tender port of Greencastle is 20 miles away.
