Saga adds second Floral Delights of Holland river cruise to meet passengers’ demand

A sell-out Floral Delights of Holland river cruise has prompted Saga to add another sailing to meet demand from guests wanting to to visit the gardens of Appeltern, Utrecht and Keukenhof in spring 2018.

River cruise ship Amadeus Royal makes a round-trip from Amsterdam and the first port of call is Tiel, where an included half-day excursion to Appeltern Gardens promises plenty of inspiration for garden lovers through an innovative collection of individual garden designs.

Utrecht Botanical Gardens are next on the itinerary and boast one of Europe’s finest rock gardens as well as tropical greenhouses.

Amadeus Royal sails on to the beautiful city of Haarlem for the annual Flower Parade where a procession of floats carry magnificent displays of colourful blooms.

No visit to the region is complete without seeing the floral displays at Keukenhof Gardens, where seven million bulbs are planted to create the world-famous beds of tulips, daffodils and hyacinths, alongside pavilions of exotic and scented blooms.

On return to Amsterdam guests can take an optional excursion to Amsterdam’s Botanical Gardens which make for a peaceful retreat from the city. The attractive grounds incorporate three impressive greenhouses: the Palm House, the three-climate greenhouse with its subtropical plants and the butterfly house.
