Scenic Eclipse Reaches Next Milestone With Keel Laying
The keel laying and coin fixing ceremony of Scenic Eclipse, the world’s first Discovery Yacht, took place on April 28 — marking the official start of the ship’s construction.
In a well-attended ceremony at Uljanik Shipyard JSC in Pula, Croatia, Scenic founder and chairman, Glen Moroney, had the honor of placing an Australian coin beneath the keel – a right of passage for every new ship and one thought to bring good fortune to the crew and guests. Dignitaries looking on included Marinko Brgic, a member of the JSC management board, and Marko Moric, CEO Bureau Veritas, Croatia.
