A clear head certainly helps when you have decisions to make and that means being able to get rid of any distractions while you are thinking.

Can there be a better place to do that than on a quiet boat sailing along the Turquoise Coast of Turkey?

If you decide to sail Turkey with Alaturka Yachting & Travel, you have made your first good decision. With over 14 years of experience, Alaturka will ensure that your gulet holiday is guaranteed to be both enjoyable and relaxing.

Nothing to Do

No one wants to return from holiday needing another one because they are tired. That is where a sailing holiday with a captain and crew scores highly. Once you are on board you do not have anything to do except enjoy yourself. Trips are full board offering the fresh produce grown in this fertile region of Turkey.
You can also expect typical Turkish cuisine using lamb, chicken and fish. Who knows? As part of your relaxation you might like to try some fishing and catch dinner? There are several species you might catch ranging from sea bream and bass to red mullet or even barracuda.

Hours will pass by where you can simply sit and reflect, catching the sun’s rays and maybe taking a swim in the warm seas to cool off. While you will certainly want to spend some time with your fellow passengers, probably family and friends if you are using this break to make some important decisions, you will also want time alone.

There is a tranquillity about being out on a calm sea after the sun goes down, especially later when everyone else has gone to bed or very early before anyone else has risen. There could be no better environment to reach decisions, whatever the problem. If you cannot do it here then where can you do it?

Starting Points

Each of the tours on offer on this coastline has major attractions. If you start out from Fethiye there are many things just a short distance away:

● Tersane Island, uninhabited since the Greek inhabitants left at the formation of the Turkish Republic in 1923.

● The islands that make up the famous 12 Island Tour. The advantage you have when you have chartered your own boat is that you can go there once the day trippers have all returned to Fethiye.

● Oludeniz Beach, Babadag Mountain and the Blue Lagoon just to the east.

● Butterfly Valley best accessed from the sea where at the height of summer there are many species of butterflies and moths.

You may prefer Marmaris as your starting point and it is equally appealing with lovely bays and beaches, many coves with no one else around and the option of going across to the Greek Island of Rhodes to explore the Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Depending on the length of your tour you can head east down the Datca Peninsula then around to Bodrum.

Bodrum is also a good starting point with its own attraction, another peninsula to explore and the Greek Island of Kos just a short distance due west.

Make a Decision

There is plenty of information online about the joys of sailing. If you have never thought about it before it is worth your looking at the comments that others have made about their experiences in these seas. Feel free to ask any questions or seek advice. You will not regret going ahead and booking but you don’t have to have problems to resolve in order to do so.

For the best gulet experience, book your cruise this summer with Alaturka.
