Dubrovnik wins “The Best Mediterranean Cruise Port” Excellence award
At the tenth edition of the Mediterranean Cruise Excellence Awards 2017, hosted in the MedCruise member port of Cartagena on February 16th, the Port Authority of Dubrovnik won the award in the category of “The Best Mediterranean Cruise Port / Destination in 2016”.
The Port maintains a leading role within MedCruise, with Kristijan Pavic, President of Port of Dubrovnik, being also President of the Association.
The recognition was presented during the award winning gala ceremony organised by CruisesNews and was received by Dario Barbaric, B.Sc., Acting General Manager of the Port Authority of Dubrovnik.
The Cruise Excellence awards ceremony was attended by more than 300 managers, executives and professionals from cruise shipping lines operating in Europe, representatives of European ports and destinations as well as travel agencies, tour operators, community members and stakeholders from the maritime and tourism industry in general.
The awards in 12 categories are the result of a macro survey carried out by CruisesNews Media Group among Spanish cruise passengers who have chosen the best cruise company, the best cruise ship, the best entertainment on board and the best Mediterranean cruise port / destination in 2016. The Port Authority of Dubrovnik has the honour to receive this important acknowledgement again this year as the best cruise destination in 2016 recognizing the work and achievements of the port.
Previously at the event Excellence Cruise Awards (Mediterranean Edition) in 2012, the Port of Dubrovnik won the award as the best Mediterranean cruise port in 2011 jointly with the Port of Venice in the category of the best service for cruise ships in the Mediterranean as well as winning the award of the best Mediterranean cruise port / destination in 2013.
