Star Cruises Celebrates SuperStar Libra’s Return to the city of Penang
Star Cruises today (22 Sep.) celebrates the return of SuperStar Libra to the beautiful shores of Penang (Malaysia), homeporting at Penang from September 2016 to December 2017.
In conjunction with SuperStar Libra’s homeport relocation to Penang, Star Cruises is pleased to introduce the regular 1-Night high seas cruise and 3-Night destination cruise to Phuket & Krabi onboard the 10-storey ocean cruise liner.
Distinguished guests, government officials, travel business partners gathered today in Penang International Cruise Terminal, Swettenham Pier to celebrate the homecoming of SuperStar Libra to Penang, Malaysia.
Dignitaries from Malaysian authorities, namely The Guest-of-Honour, Yang Berusaha Mr. Tan Teik Cheng, Chairman of Penang Port Commission, Mr. Mohamad Puzi bin Mohamad Nazir, General Manager of Penang Port Commission, Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Syed Mohamad bin Syed Murtaza, Chairman of Penang Port Sdn Bhd, Mr. Rosihan Adi bin Baharuddin, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Penang Port Sdn Bhd and Ms Lim Yuk Hua, Deputy Under Secretary of the Maritime Division, Ministry of Transport have graced the occasion and officiated the Homecoming Ceremony onboard of SuperStar Libra.
Travel partners have enjoyed an exclusive preview of the entertainment and culinary showcase onboard, including “One in a Million”, the Broadway-style production show featuring breathtaking acrobats and professional dancers, as well as Southeast Asian culinary delights, all of which to be offered to passengers of SuperStar Libra.
In celebration of this special occasion, open-day recruitment had been launched on the official Facebook page of Star Cruises, which was welcomed by the Penang community with an overwhelming response of over 100 submissions within the first day of posting. The lucky visitors had the privilege to board SuperStar Libra for an exclusive ship tour.
Star Cruises also sponsored cruise packages to the three charity organizations for fundraising purpose. The three organizations are Eden Handicap Service Centre, St Nicholas Home for the Blind and The Salvation Army Penang Children Home.
